Dry Fork Coyote Gulch Camping

Anthony and Zac burning tumbleweeds at our camp site.

The Dry Fork of Coyote Gulch has several fun hikes and slot canyons including Spooky Slot Canyon, Peek-a-Boo Slot Canyon, Brimstone Gulch, and the Dry Fork Narrows of Coyote Gulch. There are no developed campgrounds in the area, so primitive camping is your only option.

The BLM allows camping pretty much anywhere on the monument. However, please be wise in your selection of a camping spot. Do not camp at trailheads or within 300' of corrals, springs, seeps, or streams. Try to camp in already disturbed areas. When car camping, consider using a camp stove. For campfires, a metal fire pan, such as a garbage can lid or an old barbecue bottom, is recommended. Before breaking camp, transfer the cold, blackened ashes to your garbage container, and stow the fire pan in a separate bag. This way, other campers will find a clean camp for their own enjoyment. Firewood is scarce in the desert, so remember to bring plenty from home.
