From the entrance at the surface, this cave follows a 1.5 to 2-ft wide crack crack straight down hundreds of feet. Over the years, rocks have become lodged in the crack, giving excellent footholds. There are several drops of 10-15 feet, so a handline can be helpful in getting out. At the bottom of the cave, there is a tunnel that keeps going. However, someone put pink caution tape in the shape of an X blocking the path (thus giving this cave its name). I believe this is an indication that the tunnel is unsafe and should be avoided.
