Since our canyoneering trip was canceled, we decided to take the new trailer up Spanish Fork Canyon instead. Tara wasn't feeling good, so she stayed home. The kids helped me get everything packed, and we left shortly before 6:00. It's amazing how helpful the kids are when they're anxious to go on a fun trip.
We drove up to the staging area at the start of Skyline Drive and parked the trailer there. Anthony, Miller, Ondy, and Killian joined us. We got the trailer leveled and started a fire so we could cook hot dogs.
The ground was incredibly muddy from the melting snow, so we instituted a no-shoe-in-the-trailer rule. We got the generator running but realized that we didn't have the adapter cord to plug in the trailer. So we did the whole trip off battery power. We were worried that the heater wouldn't run all night, but the batteries were totally fine and all that worrying was for nothing. It was a bit chaotic because it was too muddy to play outside and everyone was cooped inside and the boys were bouncing off the walls. We played Quiddler then got the boys in bed. Then we played The Crew until about midnight. Madi got tired and went to bed around 10:30 but Savannah stayed up with us.
