Drive to the end of Leviathan Cave Road and park. The road is dirt and rough in spots but passable with a two-wheel-drive vehicle. From the end of the road, start hiking southwest, generally following the ravine.
The entrance to the cave is a large pit in the ground. You can rappel 300 feet over the northeastern lip of the entrance, or you can rappel 30 feet over the southern lip. Once in the cave, no vertical gear is required.

Leviathan Cave is very fragile, so please tread softly. Don't remove anything from the cave, and leave the area better than you found it. Help us preserve this beautiful cave for future generations.
Even though I had my vertical gear with me, I chose not to use it and instead opted to downclimb the 30-ft rope.
When I went, we only had time to explore the northern arm of the cave, which was amazing. The cave has many stalagmites, stalagtites, columns, soda straws, cave bacon, cave popcorn, and rimstone pools.
