Jeremy Dye, Epic Coworkers,
Wednesday, October 15 – I worked a half day from the office and drove down to Axtell for our shareholder retreat. We stayed at an Airbnb near Palisade State Park. We played a game of pool and then met up at the Gunnison gun range to make sure everyone knew how to operate the rifle and aim correctly. Then we had a steak dinner at the private ranch hunt home. We signed some waivers, got hoodies and hats, and then went back to the Airbnb.
Thursday, October 16 – I spent Thursday at the shareholder retreat. We went ram hunting in the morning on the private ranch. We hopped on the side-by-side and drove into the pen. While they were shutting the gate, I spotted two of the rams. I shot one of the Navajo sheep that had four horns—it looked pretty cool.
Then Adam and I hung out in the blind for a while while they tried to chase the sheep in our direction. We ended up meeting up with everyone else and cornered them up against the fence. It was like a firing squad with all the sheep bunched up in the middle and everyone else around the outside taking shots at them while they just stood there.
They harvested the animals for us and gave us some of the meat to take home. They’ll be preparing the skulls for us later.
