Overview

Hype:

Evermore Park is an immersive experience theme park in Pleasant Grove. It opened its doors officially to the public on September 29, 2018. In contrast to most theme parks, Evermore Park does not feature any major rides (the only ride currently is The Evermore Express, a small train that travels around the park); instead, trained actors who portray fantasy characters are the main attraction. These characters invite guests to interact with them: ask any question, discover their backstory, join one of Evermore's guilds, and help them with different tasks. The park also has high quality theming to explore, vendor tents, an acrobatics show, a storytelling stage, knife throwing booths, and an archery range.

Story

Tara and I went to Evermore for a date night. At first, we were a bit hesitant to engage because LARPing has never been something that appeals to either of us. We wandered around the grounds and admired the theming. Then we had dinner at Vander's Keep. We went on a few quests, rode the train, watched the storytelling show, and did some archery. Tara did well enough to qualify for the archery tournament, so I convinced her to sign up for that. We watched the acrobatic show, and tried our hands at knife throwing. Then Tara competed in the archery tournament. She won her first round with 10 points and moved on to the final round. That was a four-way tie with 9 points, so they had a tie-breaker round in which Tara took third place with 7 points. We talked with a lady who was sewing a dragon costume, watched another acrobatics and fire juggling show, and finished the evening with their finale presentation. We weren't really sure what to expect before we went, but we're glad we went. It was a lot of fun and we had a great time.
