Overview

Hype:

My grandparents have a cabin in Scofield, so we go up several times each year. In the winter, we like to sled, snowboard, and snowmobile. In the summer, we canoe on the lake, go crawdad fishing, hike, play horseshoes, and cut firewood. And we play lots of games, especially Pinochle.

Story

We went to the cabin for one final trip before it sold. We did all our favorite activities and had a great time. It was bitter sweet.

Story

Anthony had a work party planned, but all of his employees bailed excelt Slim's family. They had already purchased the food and gotten snomobiles and made all the preparations, so he invited family and friends up too. We played in the snow and had good food and had a great time.

Story

I took the priests in our ward up to the cabin for a winter trip. We played games until late on Friday and on Saturday we sledded down the hills and behind the four wheeler. The snow was a little too deep in the meadow, but we were able to spin some some good donuts in the parking lot.

We went up to the cabin for New Years. The Laurendeaus came and we all played games and sledded and had a great time. Savannah had a power struggle and refused to brush her hair, so she got a haircut.

Story

We took a bunch of coworkers and their families up to our cabin in Scofield and had a great time. The fall colors were amazing, and we got to see the first snow of the year. On Friday evening when we got there, we discovered that the dishwasher was broken and had been leaking on the carpet for several weeks. We soaked up as much water as we could with dozens of towels, then we installed the new oven that we had taken up. We fixed dinner for the group then played White Lies and did some jigsaw puzzles. We stayed up pretty late. Bryson had to leave early, but everyone else spent the night. On Saturday, we had breakfast then we went up and played on the swings. It started snowing as we were finishing up. We fixed lunch then cleaned up and went home.

We went up to the cabin for Labor Day and had a great time. It was the first trip in a lot of years that we had this many people come. We played some games, went fishing and crawdad fishing, added the green roof to the play center, and replaced the carpet downstairs.

We had a great time up at the cabin for New Years. Because of Covid, we didn't have as many people, but we had a great time. We played a ton of The Crew and some other games and did some epic sledding behind the four wheeler.

Story

We had a great time, as usual, at the cabin. We finished building the railing on the upper level of the fort and put in the spikes for the ladder. Anthony took his little motorcycle up, and Savannah and Madi both got to ride it. Madi took a tumble and scratched up her hip. Anthony also took up his new dirt bike, and I learned to drive it. I tipped it over once when I stopped on a side hill and couldn't reach the ground.

Story

We didn't go to the cabin over Memorial Day weekend because of COVID-19 and the group size restrictions, so we went up with a smaller group the next weekend. We built a third level to the fort, which was fun and turned out really cool. Grandma and Grandpa came up as well, which was their first trip to the cabin since 2018. It was fun to show them all the improvements we'd made including the bunk beds, slide, zip track, furniture, etc. We also played some games including a really brutal group game where you have to answer questions about each person. My favorites were: for Tara "If they ran for office, what would their campaign slogan be?" "Don't vote for me", for Ondy "What one thing will they never accomplish in life?" "Buying a house", for Ari "Who are their real parents?" "Anxiety and Depression", and for me "What's their best pickup line?" "It's Sunday". We also cleaned up, chainsawed, and stacked a bunch of firewood. On the way home, we lost a tire on the four wheeler trailer. We didn't have the right tools or the time to stop because we were late taking Madi to her dance practice, so we left the trailer on the side of the highway and came back for it later that night. The bolts holding the spare tire on were rusted, so it took more than an hour and a half to change the tire. I ended up shearing off one of the bolts with my little 12" wrench, which was quite a feat of strength on my part. All-in-all, it was a really fun weekend.

Story

We went up to the cabin over Easter weekend and worked on projects. We took up a bunch of wood that used to be for haunted house stuff, and we built a landing platform under the tube slide. We ended up having a bunch more wood left over and plenty of time left in the day, so we also added a second level platform to the fort. We died easter eggs and went home a day late because we were having fun. We ended up celebrating Easter at home a day late.

Story

With the corona virus shutting everything down, we decided to make a quick trip up to the cabin before the quarantine was put in place. We also acquired two free tube slides that someone was getting rid of, so we spent the trip installing the slide from the second story deck down to the ground. We also played games and enjoyed the time in the mountains.

Story

We went up to the cabin the weekend before New Years. We did quite a bit of sledding including building a track that started on the fort, went down the slide, down the hill, across the driveway, and down the next hill to the road. We played some games, and had a great time. Several of the people who didn't have to work stayed an extra couple of days.
