Friday, January 31 - When the kids got home from school, we piled in the van and drove down to Marysvale for the weekend. We stopped in Richfield for dinner and took a little detour to see our old house. It has metal roofing and solar panels on it now, and the trees we planted are giant, but the play center is still there. We arrived at the Old Pine Inn in Marysvale at about 6:00 and got settled in. The rest of the Dye family arrived shortly after. My cousin Landon joined us on Saturday. We played Quiddler and Pinochle and stayed up until 1:30 talking.
Saturday, February 01 - The boys woke up at 5:30 and proceeded to run up and down the hallway and make all sorts of noise. That made for a short night of sleep. I got up around 8:00. Tara stayed in our room and read her book until lunch time. Savannah and I worked on the dragon metal kit. We all played games for most of the day including Boggle, Pinochle, Overlap, Azul, and Bang. Kingston had a really hard time adjusting to a new house because he wanted to get into all the stuff, especially the treats in the kitchen. In the evening, Tara, Madi, and I went on a walk through town. We ended up heading east and discovered a fun old bridge and hiked up to the M on the mountain. After dinner, we played The Crew and Overlap and stayed up talking until 1:30 again. It was nice to have some time to get into a real conversation instead of just superficial catch-ups that we do at family dinners.
Sunday, February 02 - The boys did a little better job sleeping in, which was nice. We hung out and played games in the morning. We also sat in the yard and watched a tree removal company cut down a couple trees next to the river. I helped Rodney get his Illumin8 setup fixed. We played a game of Pinochle that lasted way longer than it should have. After about six hands, both teams had a net score of 10 points. We packed up and started the drive home around 5:00. Once at home, we unpacked. Then I finished up all our taxes except for the K-1 that I need from Epic.

Friday, January 12 - We finished packing and then set off for Marysvale. We got to Marysvale around 7:00 p.m. Rodney and Julie show us around and we got settled in. We stayed up talking and had a fun evening. At about 1:00, we got a text from Rodney that they were having a hard time sleeping because we were making too much noise. Whoops.
Saturday, January 13 - Day two of our Marysvale trip. We hung out at the inn all day. We played lots of games, did diamond art, colored, took naps, and worked puzzles.
Sunday, January 14 - Day 3 at the inn in Marysvale. I spent about half the night alternating between hanging over the toilet and sleeping on the hallway floor just outside the bathroom floor. I never did throw up, but I felt pretty miserable. Kingston was sick on Saturday and threw up a ton of times, so we think I caught it from him. By morning I was feeling mostly better. We played lots more games including The Crew, Calico, and Just One. Rodney took us on a tour of the property and showed us the cabins and other rooms. We spent a bit of time brainstorming entertainment ideas for Rodney.
Monday, January 15 - The original plan was to leave Marysvale around lunch time, but during the night, several other people got sick. Anthony, Ondy, Jaren, and my mom all caught the bug. Everyone was pretty anxious to get home, so we all packed up and cleaned up. My family was the last to leave around 10:00. I joined my work meetings on the drive home, as much as cell service would allow.
