Hype:
The newly restored J.T. & Phyllis Patterson Visitor Center (2011) was once known as the Oil House and like its name suggests, the structure was the perfect place in which to store oil and other items at the Roundhouse & Railyards. It is the only building on the site with a basement. While small, the structure does make a nice place in which to hold a class or meeting.

When we visited, they were working on renovating half of the roundhouse and turning it into some sort of convention center. In the visitor center, they had a model train, and a guy gave us a brief history of the area. The kids got some really cool stickers.
