Overview

Hype:

Scorched Studio is an interactive art studio in Orem, Utah, specializing in experiential woodburning activities in which visitors produce their own handcrafted items. Guests typically book sessions in advance, select from a range of wood or leather projects such as cutting boards, bracelets, or boxes, and complete their designs using provided tools, stencils, and step-by-step instruction. The studio emphasizes accessibility, allowing participants with no prior artistic experience to create finished pieces within a structured session.

The business was founded by Sam Robertson, who developed the concept after experimenting with woodburning and initially hosting small pop-up events before establishing a permanent studio location. The studio’s model focuses on social and recreational use, positioning woodburning as a group-friendly activity suitable for dates, celebrations, and team-building events. It has been described as part of a growing trend of interactive, craft-based entertainment venues.

In addition to standard bookings, Scorched Studio accommodates organized group events such as birthdays, church gatherings, and corporate offsites, offering scaled pricing and private reservations. Sessions typically include materials, workspace access, and guidance from staff, with optional upgrades depending on the selected project. The studio contributes to the local creative economy by promoting hands-on artistic engagement and accessible craft experiences.

Story

At 5:30, we met up at Scorched Wood Burning Studio in Orem for family home evening. We took some wood slabs that we had left over from the Christmas party nail art project and had fun burning a bunch of designs on them. We made pandas, flowers, pineapples, and other fun things. They had some cool little stencils that helped out a lot.
