Story

Mad Scientist

We had a group of 6 who have all played many escape rooms before. We escaped in 31 minutes. We were quite disappointed with our experience. On Google they had really good reviews, some of the highest around, so we went into it thinking that this would be one of the best escape rooms around. Unfortunately it wasn't. It's a good escape room, but it wasn't one of the best. The pricing was too high for the experience.

Pros

  • Room decorating and theming was done well. It was a bit on the simple side.
  • The props were functional and not broken.
  • There was a good variety of puzzles and not an overreliance on padlocks.
  • The puzzles mostly matched the story and didn't break immersion.
  • Most of the puzzles had clear entry and exit points, meaning you knew when you had the right answer before you try it in a lock.
  • The rooms were adequate for large groups.
  • Lighting and temperature controls were good.

Cons

  • Puzzles were too simple for our group.
  • There weren't enough puzzles to keep our group busy for the full hour.
  • Theming was basic.
  • The room had so much stuff that it was hard to keep straight what was a puzzle and what wasn't and also what was completed.
  • A couple of the puzzle mechanisms were broken or old puzzles were removed but there were still traces of the old puzzles.
  • Our game master was a bit overly helpful.
