Story

Friday, September 1 - We finished getting all the gear loaded up. Ondy brought over some gear for us to take in our truck, and Anthony brought over a lot of his gear to put in our truck and picked up our four wheeler. The weather was supposed to be pretty rainy, so we were all packing heavy to be prepared for that. We left around 6:00 p.m. and got to camp at Avintaquin Campground in Indian Canyon. We set up canopies so that we could unload all the gear onto the ground out of the rain and then made dinner and set up tents right before dark. It was rainy, so we didn't stay up and talk.

Saturday, September 2 - It was raining in the morning, so we played The Crew and Pinochle. It cleared up in the afternoon, and we did a few four-wheeling rides. Cooper drove the four wheeler and had a blast. Then he smashed into a rock and got self-conscious and didn't want to drive anymore. Madi cuddled up in the air couch and read her book. Savannah and the boys discovered and played in a tree fort. It was a shelter at the base of a pine tree that was enclosed and kind of sheltered from the rain. The evening weather was good so after the kids were in bed, the adults hung out around the campfire and talked.

Sunday, September 3 - The weather in the morning was relatively nice, but it downpoured in the afternoon. We had a major hail storm with lots of lightning. We even got a flash flood warning on our phones, at least the ones that had cell signal. We all huddled under the canopies and played some campfire type games since in a cards or anything would get too wet. After around dinner time, the weather cleared again and was nice and we had a fun evening around the campfire. We played several rounds of Pinochle and Bang.

Monday, September 4 - It rained from 4:00 a.m. until 7:30 a.m. Everything was completely soaked and covered with mud splashes. We had breakfast and played a couple of games then tore down camp. We threw all of the wet stuff in the back of our truck piled as tall as we could get it so that it wouldn't get everyone else's vehicles muddy on the inside. One of the four wheelers quit working so we had to load that onto the truck manually. We ended up leaving around noon.
