Hype:

The Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre, and Gunnison (GMUG) National Forests, sprawling across western Colorado, offer some of the most diverse and breathtaking landscapes in the region. Together, they cover over 3 million acres and include highlights such as the Grand Mesa, the world's largest flat-topped mountain; the rugged Uncompahgre Plateau; and the scenic Gunnison Basin. Visitors can enjoy a plethora of activities, from hiking, fishing, and mountain biking in summer to snowmobiling and skiing in winter. With countless alpine lakes, lush forests, and dramatic cliffs, the GMUG National Forests are a paradise for nature lovers and outdoor adventurers.
