Hype:
Capitol Gorge is a fun, easy hike in Capitol Reef National Park. The first part of the trail is an easy walk up a dry wash. On the canyon walls are some petroglyphs and some pioneer signatures. The last segment of the hike is a short scramble up a side canyon to three potholes or "tanks" and a good-sized natural bridge.
Trail Condition: Class 2 (Trail may have tree roots or rocks jutting out. Navigation skills may consist of following rock cairns and choosing turns at junctions. Elevation gains may be more substantial.)
