Hype:
Bluff Fort Historic Site is an amazing place to spend most of a day. They have a welcome center with a video presentation to give visitors some background on the Hole-in-the-Rock expedition and the settling of Bluff. Outside, they have a ton of activities and exhibits. They have a number of historic log cabins from the original fort with audio tours about the original settlers. They also have a number of activities for the whole family including dressing up as pioneers, mining for gold, handcarts, pioneers games, and more.

We went to Bluff Fort expecting to spend an hour or two, but there was a lot more to do than we were expecting. We ended up spending a little over 4 hours. We watched the intro movie, dressed up in pioneer clothing, played with Lincoln Logs, panned for gold, took an audio tour around the cabins, ate lunch, played with hand carts, and had a great time.
