Created by Catherine de Medici as the garden of the Tuileries Palace in 1564, it was eventually opened to the public in 1667 and became a public park after the French Revolution. In the 19th and 20th centuries, it was a place where Parisians celebrated, met, strolled, and relaxed.

After we finished our tour of the Louvre, we headed over to the Tuileries Garden. We sat in the park for a while and watched the locals practicing their cheerleading throws. Then Tara and I walked through the garden. We walked through the fair rides and bought some crepes at the stand then we tried really hard not to eat the second crepe (for my parents) while walking back.
