From the parking area, head south on the well-signed trail. There are a couple of interpretive signs at the trailhead. After about 0.28 miles, there is a movie set ruin with an interpretive sign. Shortly after the movie set, the trail enters a wash and turns west. There is a very short (150 ft long) but impressive slot canyon that is very photogenic. After the slot canyon, the trail exits the wash and heads north. The trail joins up with the road and follows alongside the road for about 250 yards back to the start.

We were a bit ahead of the Laurendeaus, so we did the White Dome trail while we were waiting for them.
