We stopped at the Canyons of the Ancients National Monument Visitor Center and Museum on our way out of town. It was a cool museum, and they had a lot of fun and informative displays. We ended up staying a lot longer than we wanted to because the kids wanted to get a Junior Ranger badge, but then they were too burned out to complete all the activities. On top of that, they were having a ranger-led discussion which we thought would be fun, but it ended up being a lot longer than we wanted but we were too self conscious to leave in the middle of the discussion.
After walking through the museum, we ate lunch outside at one of the picnic tables.
After lunch, we hiked up to Escalante Pueblo. It was an easy hike, but the kids dragged their feet the whole way. It took us about half an hour for the hike.
