Blake's hitch is one of the only slide-and-grip knots that is tied in the end of a rope. I use Blake's hitch to tie an adjustable neck loop to keep my chest ascender upright when ascending.
Like most slide-and-grip knots, Blake's hitch should be tied with a small rope around a big rope, or it can be tied with a very supple rope.
