Distel Hitch

Description

The distel hitch is a slide-and-grip knot tied in the middle of a short cord. Structurally, it is a clove hitch with extra twists in the top portion.

Advantages

Most other slide-and-grip knots, like the prusik, don't work very well when tied with paracord. After they are weighted, they are extremely difficult to slide up the rope. The Distel Hitch doesn't have this problem. It releases easily after being loaded.

Disadvantages

The distel hitch must be tied with a length of rope, not a prusik loop.
