Description

The figure 8 bend is used to tie two ropes together.

Advantages

The figure 8 bend is easier to tie than the double fisherman's bend. It is also easier to untie after being loaded.

Disadvantages

The figure 8 bend should not be used with ropes that differ in size or with stiff ropes.
