Overview

Hype:

There are several fine viewpoints of the Colorado River - or the upper end of Lake Powell - along Highway 95, perhaps the best being Hite Overlook. The overlook is on the rim of a 500-foot cliff just opposite Hite Marina. In the past, most of the view was of the lake, but now the waters have receded several miles southwest to expose vast mudflats, becoming partially covered by vegetation. The overlook is reached by a short spur road.
