Adventure Island is a water park located northeast of Tampa, Florida, across the street from Busch Gardens Tampa Bay. The park features 30 acres of water rides, dining, and other attractions. The park opened on June 7, 1980, and is part of SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment.

Story

We arrived at Adventure Island at 10:00, right as they were opening. Everyone kind of split every which way and it was pretty chaotic. I stayed behind to help get a wheelchair for George, and Cooper and I played in the little kid areas for a couple hours. No one had cell phones with them because it's a water park, so we all spent a lot of time looking for other people. Savannah and Madi and Tara got to ride quite a few of the big slides before lunch. We grabbed some food at lunch time and then the park got shut down because of lightning in the area. We went back to the beach chairs to wait out the storm under the umbrellas. Luckily we had some playing cards in the bag, so we played Canadian Salad. After a couple hours, they reopened the lazy river, so we went once around that, then they closed everything again. We waited a couple more hours then they opened the wave pool, so we played in that for a few minutes. Then it was 5:00 and the park closed, so we left. It downpoured on the drive back to the condo.
