Overview

Hype:

Wingfield Manor Estate was the first British Settlement land grant in the Caribbean, First settlement in Saint Kitts, and was occupied prior to 1623 by Carib Chief King Tegreman. The property was also the first rum distillery in the Caribbean. It is now owned by the Walwyn and Godwin Family of Old Road.

Story

After lunch, we took a taxi to an old plantation. At Romney Manor, we watched a demonstration of dying fabrics using wax to preserve the colors. At Wingfield Estate Plantation Ruins, there were a bunch of kilns and some boilers and things like that with signs around. Then our taxi driver took us back downtown.
