We drove down to Lone Rock Beach to cool off in the water. We ate lunch and set up the shade canopy. We were really worried about getting sunburned then having to wear a backpack on burned shoulders for three days, so we swam with our shirts on. The water was still really cold because it was early in the season, but we waded out in the water and eventually worked up the courage to swim out a ways. When we got too cold, we got out and warmed up on a towel. We repeated the hot and cold cycle a few times before packing up and taking the shuttle vehicle to Lees Ferry. On our way out, we stopped and helped a truck that was stuck in the sand. Then we stopped at the restroom. Becca and Ondy were thrilled that someone left their shampoo behind, and they took a mid-trip shower to freshen up.
