Overview

Hype:

Navajo Trail begins at Sunset Point and travels down into the main amphitheater. This is one of the more popular trails and can be combined with the Queens Garden Trail which will create a longer, but more varied, loop. While hiking, please be mindful at all times of the loose rocks which can roll on the trail beneath your feet, and rocks that may fall from cliffs above you. A major rock slide occurred in 2006, and subsequent rock slides occurred in 2010 and 2011.

Trail Condition: Class 2 (Trail may have tree roots or rocks jutting out. Navigation skills may consist of following rock cairns and choosing turns at junctions. Elevation gains may be more substantial.)

Story

We hiked the Figure-8 Combo, which is advertised as 6.4 miles and 4-5 hours. We started at Sunrise Point, hiked down the Queens Garden Trail, visited Queens Garden, hiked the Peekaboo Loop Trail clockwise, hiked up the Navajo Loop Trail, visited Sunset Point, then hiked the Rim Trail back to Sunrise Point. We passed several families with the parents carrying kids in backpacks and we commented to each other that we were glad to be hiking with just us. We stopped twice for about 15 minutes each time to take 360 video for the escape room. We also said hi to lots of people on the trail, especially those who were avoiding eye contact. The day was a little cool but the sun came out for a while and we hiked without jackets for at least half of the time.

Story

We took the Scouts camping and hiking at Bryce Canyon. They had a blast! We drove down to Sunset Point. We went to the overlook. Then we hiked along the Rim Trail to Sunrise Point. From there, we took the Queen's Garden trail down into the amphitheater. We took the Navajo Loop trail back out through Wall Street. It was a fun loop hike with awesome scenery.
