Hype:
Ruby Falls is located where the original Longmire-Paradise road crossed the Paradise River (just below the falls). As Paradise evolved, a loop road was built. That project involved moving the bridge over the river to the top of the waterfall. The old roadbed can still be seen below the falls. Ruby Falls, like other waterfalls that appear on old maps, has been mostly forgotten. The waterfall begins as a 21-foot cascade above the SR 706 Bridge (Longmire-Paradise Road) then plunges 31 feet below the bridge.

Park on the shoulder of the road and scramble down to the base of the waterfall. There is no trail.

On our way back to the cabins, we drove to the furthest waterfall first and worked our way back to the west entrance. Ruby Falls was right on the edge of the road, but the kids were tired, so just Tara and I hopped out to take some pictures.
