Overview

Hype:

Hidden Falls is a waterfall in Big Cottonwood Canyon. The falls are about 20 feet tall. The hike to Hidden Falls is short and easy, making it popular for families with young children. Near the base of the waterfall is a closed-off mine that you can peer inside.

Trail Condition: Class 2 (Trail may have tree roots or rocks jutting out. Navigation skills may consist of following rock cairns and choosing turns at junctions. Elevation gains may be more substantial.)

Time: 0-1 hour

Length: 0.2 miles up and back

Elevation Gain: 50 ft

Getting There

Navigate to 40.634678, -111.724080.

The trailhead to Hidden Falls is located 4.3 miles up Big Cottonwood Canyon. You'll park in a parking area in the middle of a large "S" bend in the road.

Route

Begin at the parking area. There is a sign at the trailhead that reads "Mill B North Fork Trail". Start walking Northeast, and cross the road. After you cross the road, the trail turns Southeast. Leave the trail and continue North for a few hundred feet to the bottom of the waterfall.

Story

We originally intended to hike to Donut Falls, but when we got to the trailhead, we quickly realized that there was too much snow on the trail. So instead we hiked to Hidden Falls. It was a fun little hike, and we took some fun pictures.
