From the parking area, head south. Follow the worn path down to the river. Cross the makeshift log bridge to the south side of the river (I've heard there are plans for a new footbridge). The caves are located along a large rock face about 50 feet south of the river.

We really enjoyed our trip to Hobbit Caves. The approach was nice and short, and all the little caves were close enough together that we didn't need to worry about keeping everyone together. We just let all the kids (and adults) explore at their own speed. After exploring the caves, we explored the cliffs higher up for more caves but didn't find any.
