Malmo Castle Garden is a 12,000-square-meter public garden situated next to Malmö Castle and Slottsparken, making it easily accessible from the city center. It was developed in the 1990s and opened to the public as a community-driven project emphasizing ecological gardening principles.

The garden features a variety of distinct areas, including kitchen gardens, orchards, rose gardens, perennial beds, a Japanese-inspired section, and a greenhouse. Story

Next, we walked to Malmö Castle.

They had a bunch of fun free activities for the kids in the courtyard. We made paper crowns first. 

Then we played tic-tac-toe with only three pieces, which was a fun variation. We shot crossbows at targets. We honed our juggling skills and ribbon twirling. Then we went to the dress-up tent. The girls tried on court dresses, and Cooper and I got dressed up in chainmail and armor. It was very heavy and not at all comfortable. Cooper said it hurt a lot.

The activities ended at 3:00, so we went in the museum. We had some talking with Cooper about appropriate behavior, then went through all of the museums they had: castle exhibits, history exhibits, natural history, and the aquarium. 

It was a very confusing museum because all the rooms are interconnected on multiple levels and there’s not a single path through everything.

After the castle closed at 5:00, we walked through the grounds and saw a historic windmill. We also walked through the gardens and along the canals. It was a pretty walk.
