Kensington Palace has long been associated with the British monarchy, originally built in the 17th century and expanded over time to accommodate various generations of royals. Its graceful Baroque design and curated exhibitions make it a significant cultural and historical landmark in London. Visitors can explore beautifully preserved state rooms, artifacts, and stories connected to monarchs who shaped British history.
The palace gained particular prominence as the childhood home of Queen Victoria, whose early life and reign are depicted through immersive displays. It is also remembered as the residence of Diana, Princess of Wales, whose legacy continues to draw international interest. Today, Kensington Palace remains partially occupied by members of the royal family while still offering extensive public access to exhibitions and the surrounding Kensington Gardens.
In addition to the historic interiors, the palace grounds provide a peaceful retreat in one of London's busiest districts. Kensington Gardens features ornamental ponds, avenues of trees, and iconic statues, creating an inviting setting for visitors year-round. Special exhibits, seasonal displays, and guided tours further enhance the experience, making the palace a must-see attraction for history, architecture, and royal enthusiasts.

By Jeremy Dye
Jeremy Dye, Tara Dye, Savannah Dye, Madilyn Dye, Cooper Dye,
This royal residence in Hyde Park has been home to many members of the royal family, including Princess Diana.
The walk from the station through the park to the palace was long for tired little legs, so we stopped on a bench for Nutella sandwiches before continuing.
We did all three audio tours plus a temporary fashion exhibit.
Luckily, several rooms had window sills or chairs for breaks. The kids liked the audio guides and seeing all the rooms. We bought a magnet in the gift shop then walked back to the Tube.
