Hype:
The Computerspielemuseum, located on Karl-Marx-Allee in Berlin, is widely regarded as the world’s first museum devoted entirely to computer and video games. Founded in 1997 and reopened in its current location in 2011, it presents gaming as an important cultural and artistic medium rather than just entertainment.
The museum’s permanent exhibition includes hundreds of objects such as historic consoles, arcade cabinets, controllers, and original game software. Many exhibits are interactive, allowing visitors to play classic games from different eras, including an authentic 1980s arcade setting and rare East German gaming machines like the Poly-Play.
Beyond nostalgia, the Computerspielemuseum also explores social, political, and technological aspects of gaming, addressing topics such as game design, player culture, and the impact of video games on society. This educational approach makes it suitable for families, tourists, and anyone interested in digital culture and media history.

We then took the subway to the Video Game Museum and had a blast playing retro arcade favorites—Mario, Pac-Man, Tetris, Asteroids—and sampling other consoles. Cooper gravitated to the Switch since he knows it well.
