The View at Christiansborg Palace sits atop the palace tower on Slotsholmen, right in the historic heart of Copenhagen. Reached by elevator, the viewing platform allows visitors to experience the city from above without an entrance fee, which makes it especially appealing compared to other major viewpoints. From the top, you can see a mix of medieval streets, royal buildings, modern harbor areas, and on clear days even glimpse Sweden across the Øresund.

The experience is straightforward and well-organized, with security checks similar to other government buildings since Christiansborg Palace houses the Danish Parliament. While the platform is exposed to the elements, this also adds to the feeling of openness and scale.

Because of its central location, visiting The View is easy to combine with sightseeing around Copenhagen’s old town, canals, and nearby museums. It can get busy during peak tourist seasons and sunny weekends, but visiting earlier in the day or outside summer months usually offers a calmer experience. Story

We walked down to Christiansborg Palace. 

We went up in the tower.

We went through all four museums there including the castle ruins, the palace, the kitchen, and the stables.
