Niagara City Cruises is the official and only boat tour experience operating from the Canadian side of Niagara Falls, offering unforgettable up-close views of the falls from the water. The signature "Voyage to the Falls" boat tour is a roughly 20-minute cruise that takes you along the Niagara River past the American Falls and Bridal Veil Falls before getting as close as possible to the powerful Canadian Horseshoe Falls — you’ll feel the roar, see the mist, and often get a refreshing spray on your face. Story

Thursday, June 19 - We woke up and drove down to Niagara Falls. The falls are one of the most famous natural attractions in the world, straddling the U.S.–Canada border and known for their immense power and mist. On the way, we stopped at a grocery store for breakfast pastries and Canadian snacks. We didn’t plan our parking very well and ended up in an expensive parking lot really close to the falls—$36 for the day, wow. We walked from the power station down along the river, stopping at different overlooks along the way. 

We stopped at a souvenir store and bought a fun Canada magnet that’s a jigsaw puzzle and a Niagara Falls magnet. We’d heard good things from neighbors recommending the boat cruise, so we bought tickets and walked along the edge of the river to the boat launch. Savannah was appalled by how much it cost and told us we shouldn’t do it because it was too expensive.

The boat ride was very wet! 

We got soaked everywhere the ponchos didn’t cover. When we were in the spray from the waterfall, we couldn’t see anything, and our cell phones wouldn’t turn on because there was so much water that they couldn’t read our fingerprints. It was very powerful.

After the boat ride, we ate sandwiches in the courtyard. We had some extra time, so we wandered around the tourist area. Tara and I wanted to go visit the window-shopping street, but we let the kids decide which way to go. We walked back through the parks and walking trails instead.
