Hype:
Frederik’s Church was designed in the 18th century by architect Nicolai Eigtved as part of the Frederiksstaden district, intended to honor King Frederik V. Construction was delayed for many decades due to financial and political challenges, and the church was finally completed in 1894, long after its original conception. Its design is inspired by Renaissance and Baroque architecture, particularly St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome.
The church’s most striking feature is its dome, one of the largest in Scandinavia, supported by 12 columns and visible from many parts of the city. Inside, the church is bright and spacious, with simple decoration that emphasizes symmetry and scale. Visitors can also climb to the dome gallery for panoramic views of Copenhagen.
Located directly across from Amalienborg Palace, Frederik’s Church plays an important role in the visual and cultural identity of central Copenhagen. It is an active place of worship as well as a popular tourist attraction, often visited in combination with nearby royal and waterfront landmarks.

Jeremy Dye, Tara Dye, Savannah Dye, Madilyn Dye, Cooper Dye,
After the palace, we walked down the street to Frederick’s Church, which has a giant copper dome on top.
As we were walking under some scaffolding, Savannah hit some people going the other way with her umbrella, and Tara chastised her for it. Savannah got all grumpy that Tara told on her to me. She hit me with her umbrella because she was upset, then she waited on the steps of the church while the rest of us went inside because she refused to follow us.
Once we got out, we walked down the road to the Metro station. Savannah was crying the whole way. It was very cold and rainy.
